Permanent Make Up Micropigmentation vs. Microblading
The difference between micropigmentation and microblading
In the jungle of many terms, it is sometimes difficult to find out how a permanent make-up (PMU) is created and which tools are used.
Permanent Make Up
Permanent Make Up
It is important to know that the colour of a PMU is not brought into the skin as deeply as a classic tattoo, and a tattoo uses completely different, stronger devices and also special tattoo colours. The aim of a tattoo is that it remains visible throughout life.
With permanent make-up, the colour is pigmented in the uppermost layers of the skin, so it usually fades after a few years and should be refreshed regularly to enjoy it for a long time.
A permanent make-up is foremost implemented using two different methods:
- MICROBLADING
- MICROPIGMENTATION
MICROBLADING
When microblading the eyebrows with hairs, lines are carved into the uppermost layer of skin using a manual handpiece working without a motor and where needles are arranged like a blade.
These lines will later represent the hair drawing of the eyebrows.
COLOUR IS PLACED ON THE SCRATCHED SKIN
As soon as the skin is scratched, colour is then placed on it (the colour mixes with blood and lymphatic fluid, so more colour is washed out again, and crusts also form with which the colour may “fall out” completely once the skin is healed).
NOT SUITABLE FOR ALL CUSTOMERS!
- Not for acne and oily skin (colour holds poorly, can fade or spread, increased risk of infection)
- Not for mature and / or thin, sensitive skin: Microblading was primarily “developed” for very firm Asian skin, the thinner the skin, the greater the risk of cracks and scarring
- Depth of cut depends on the individual pressure with which the blader works (risk of scarring or damage to the hair roots of the existing eyebrows)
As our aim is to offer clients a treatment that is as precise as possible and, above all, gentle on the skin, we do not offer microblading trainings and treatments..
MICROPIGMENTATION
- cosmetic pigmentation
permanent make-up eyebrows, eyeliner and lip - camouflage pigmentation
e.g. for scar coverage, 3D reconstruction of the areola after breast surgery, colour matching after surgery or in case of Vitiligo to name a few examples
In our case, the needle (as fine as an acupuncture needle) allows to draw very straight and fine haistroke lines besides of course the option to create subtle and fine shadings – thanks to the ultra-precise magnetic stroke motor.
GENTLE PIGMENTATION
Thus enabling very precise treatment without straining the skin due to slightly rotating movements of the needle.
POINT BY POINT COLOUR APPLICATION
The colour is brought into the skin dot by dot, thus affecting the skin as little as possible.
SHORT HEALING PROCESS
The healing process, unlike some other methods and devices, is generally shorter using the LONG-TIME-LINER method.
Well-founded education & a comprehensive knowledge
WELL-FOUNDED EDUCATION
Permanent make-up requires a good, well-founded education and a comprehensive knowledge by the PMU expert, in whose hands you put your face and where trust plays an important role.
A good PMU artist knows the different skin structures and knows what needs to be considered depending on the skin type, skin structure and area to be treated.
DETAILED KNOWLEDGE
Detailed knowledge of the composition of the colour pigments and their interplay with the natural skin tone and type, very good understanding of symmetries (for a perfect pre-drawing, which is crucial for a good pigmentation result), perfect skin stretching technique and a precise, gentle pigmentation technique.
