Jutta Speidel and music legend Abi Ofarim wow guests with a spontaneous duet
Company founder Waltraud Kuffner and daughter Corinna promised the guests a lively and fun evening in their opening address at Long-Time-Liner's 25-year anniversary party. And they delivered on this promise: Few could remain in their seat as the band "Bitter Lemon" kept taking to the stage, filling the dance floor with happy guests throughout the evening. The presence of music legend Abi Ofarim in particular thrilled those in attendance: "That is my generation's music," explains Waltraud Kuffner, "bringing back so many wonderful memories." Actress Jutta Speidel also got caught up in the excitement, performing a spontaneous duet with Abi. Her song "Noch einen Tanz lieber Hans" ("One More Dance Dear Hans), won repeated rapturous applause.
But for all the joy and excitement, some serious issues also received attention at the event. The two Kuffner women wanted to use this important day to give something back to those to whom fate has not been so kind.
It is nice to see that these two successful women remain mindful that there is much suffering and injustice in the world. They have over the years again and again involved themselves in social projects and are always keen to help where they can. But for the 25th anniversary they wanted to go further, and to this end the company's management searched for organizations worthy of support.
It was difficult for these two dedicated businesswomen to select just one organization, for there are so many that are so deserving of help. Ultimately, the choice fell on the following organizations: Brustkrebs Deutschland (Breast Cancer Germany) eV, run by managing director and founder Renate Haidinger. Its impressive involvement in the fight against and research into what remains a terrible scourge for women won over the whole management team. "We also have a close professional involvement with this huge issue," explains Kuffner, "as we often help restore attractively coloured, naturally shaped nipples following successful breast reconstruction surgery, meaning that we witness the suffering of those affected at first hand." Alongside health, both women cherish children as the most important thing in life - they are mothers themselves, so how could they feel any differently? - and "Horizont eV" was therefore chosen as the second organization to be supported. This organization was founded in Munich by actress Jutta Speidel and provides homeless children and their mothers with somewhere to live while it also works to improve their future prospects.
